Hünxe lies at the edge of Niederrhein,
closely and well connected to the industrial Ruhr region. Nevertheless Hünxe is a particularly green city, which is crossed by river Lippe and the Wesel-Datteln-canal and which includes the Nature reserve Kaninchenberge. Furthermore Hünxe is hometown of the Rock and Bike Festival, the homeland museum Alte Bergschule and castle Gartrop.
