 The River Rhine Cycle Way is part of an EU project. It covers a total distance of some 400 kilometres and represents the core of a network of well-developed cycle tracks that links six countries, including Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. At the Niederrhein the route leads mainly through the Rhein-Waal region in the border area between Germany and the Netherlands. It meanders through attractive riverine scenery, meadows and fields, allowing nature lovers to enjoy the Niederrhein at a leisurely pace. The route also passes the bustling city of Duisburg and through the Wesel and Kleve districts. It offers many possibilities for detours in order to take a break, have a bite and go sightseeing in Rheinberg, Dinslaken, Voerde, Wesel and Xanten as well as Kalkar, Kleve and Emmerich.
